Connor can often be heard telling people that he is the youngest of nine children. He is seriously loved by his big family. When Connor was young and not thriving in his public-school setting, his mom, Carol, did an amazing job advocating and found The Camphill School in Pennsylvania. Having come from a very busy home and a family that adores him, his love for community is not surprising. Connor attended The Camphill School when he was young and applied to Heartbeet when he graduated. He was one of the founding Friends and his joy, kindness, and love of celebration permeated the first years of Heartbeet.
Connor was the first Friend to encourage the founders of Heartbeet to build house number two and took tremendous pride in watching Heartbeet unfold. He believed in the mission and was a promoter of the community. Connor loves to sing, dance and turns everything into the next party! Over the last few years, it became clear that Connor was seeking his next step after 20 years at Heartbeet. He started speaking to his advocates and family about what was next for him and expressing in all the ways he could that change was needed. As soon as he heard about Riverflow’s beginnings, he expressed interest and a desire to be part of a new beginning. It was clear that a spark was lit and he consistently expressed his wishes to his family, friends, and advocates.
Connor approached Riverflow with both the serious need for a life change and the desire to support a new community with all his community experience. It was clear that it is a wonderful fit—both Riverflow and Connor will grow together!
